Chapter 686: Ignoring Even Me?
When they arrived at the hotel, Daphne said to Adeline, “I’m fine now, Adeline. You should go.”
She had already let Adeline stay with her the whole night.
Right now, she was afraid of taking up any more of Adeline’s time.
Adeline wanted to say she wasn’t busy either.
But looking at Daphne’s expression, she figured that perhaps letting Daphne have a moment alone right now would be better.
“Then I’ll head off,” Adeline said. “Call me if you need anything.”
“Don’t worry,” Daphne smiled. “I’m not an idiot. If something really comes up, I’ll definitely find you.”
Adeline squeezed her hand once more before leaving the hotel room.
Afterward, she strolled leisurely to the door of Harrison’s room.
Harrison had messaged her the room number the night before as soon as he checked into the hotel.
It was on the top floor.
When she reached the door, Adeline raised her hand and knocked.
Before she could even react, the door was already pulled open. Her wrist was grabbed, and she was swiftly pulled inside.
The door clicked shut, and she found herself wrapped in a familiar, scorching embrace.
“Miss me?” Harrison’s amused voice sounded above her head.
Adeline blinked. “How did you know I was coming?”
The way he opened the door so quickly and pulled her in—it was obvious he knew she was coming and had been waiting specifically for her.
Her face was flushed, her eyes glistening, completely unaware of how enticing she looked right now.
Harrison’s gaze instantly darkened.
His lips brushed lightly against hers, his voice hoarse. “You can just pretend it’s nighttime now.”
Adeline didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
What kind of logic was that?
Harrison scooped her up and carried her to the bed, then picked up the remote control nearby and pressed a button.
The heavy curtains closed automatically, not letting in a single crack of light.
The room plunged into darkness, truly resembling nighttime.
Despite the pitch black, Harrison still found every single spot on her body he wanted to find with unerring accuracy. He effortlessly ignited the fire within her, causing her to sink unconsciously into his passion.
Harrison kissed her forehead. “Guess.”
“Hmph. A bodyguard must have seen me coming up and called you.”
“Mhm, Adeline is so clever.”
Having said that, he lowered his head and sealed her lips. While kissing her, his fingers moved to undo the buttons of her blouse.
Adeline panicked and tried to grab his hands, but he easily restrained her, kissing her even more fiercely.
Dazed and muddled by his kisses, she came back to her senses only to find the buttons of her blouse already undone.
And his next move was to take the blouse off entirely.
“Harrison, don’t you dare…”
Harrison paused his actions with great patience and asked, “Why not?”
“It’s early morning. This isn’t good.” Adeline’s

again.
“Hm?” Harrison still didn’t move, seeming to wait patiently for her answer.
Adeline was so frustrated she raised her head and bit his lip fiercely.
Even being bitten didn’t anger Harrison. He simply teased her slowly, bit by bit, refusing to relent until she uttered the words “Hurry up.”
When it was finally over, Harrison carried Adeline to the bathroom to clean up.
Emerging from the bathroom, Adeline wrapped herself in the blanket and glanced at her phone.
It was past one in the afternoon.
She had arrived around eight in the morning…
She hadn’t realized so much time had passed.
Daphne hadn’t sent her any messages; she wondered how she was doing now.
Instead, Alberto had sent her a
message.
Alberto said, [I heard what happened last night. Don’t worry, I’ll get revenge for you.]
Adeline’s brow furrowed.
How had Alberto heard about it too?
First Harrison, now Alberto…
Colin was going to have a massive headache.
A source of warmth pressed against her back, and Adeline snapped irritably, “Go away. Don’t touch me.”
Harrison had no intention of listening to her about this. He stretched out his long arm and pulled her into his embrace.
“Who are you chatting with?” he asked.
“Ignoring even me now?”
“I didn’t want to talk to you in the first place,” Adeline muttered.
She had just come by this morning to see him.
And then…
Her legs were still sore and aching now.
Harrison sighed. “Seems I didn’t satisfy Adeline just now.”
“You—”
Adeline was so angry she wanted to kick him, but her legs were truly out of strength, so she gave up.
“Hungry?” Harrison asked.
Adeline wanted to be stubborn and say no, but the emptiness in her stomach made her mouth honest.
“Hungry.”
“Then I’ll have some food sent up.”
She was low on energy now and probably didn’t want to go out to eat either.
Adeline remained silent, a sign of agreement.
Harrison called the concierge, and soon someone delivered a large spread of food to the living room before quietly leaving.
Seeing Adeline still curled up in the blankets, Harrison asked, “Want to eat in the living room? Or should I bring it in here?”
After thinking for a moment, Adeline forced herself to crawl out from the covers.
“Better eat in the living room.”
She said this, then stretched out both arms towards Harrison, acting spoiled. “Carry me there.”
Even if she hadn’t asked, Harrison had planned to carry her anyway.
Her legs were sore; he knew that.
Adeline hadn’t eaten breakfast and had exerted herself for so long, she was on the verge of passing out from hunger. She felt slightly better only after eating two pieces of grilled fish.
“You don’t have to go to the office today?” she asked.
“Mhm, nothing much going on today. I can keep you company properly.”
Before Adeline could respond, her phone chimed.
She picked it up. It was a message from Daphne.
Daphne said, [Adeline, I want to get a drink.]
Adeline cast a sidelong glance at Harrison.
“Looks like I might not need your company after all.”
Harrison raised an eyebrow. “Daphne wants you?”
“Yeah, she’s in a bad mood. I should go keep her company for a bit.”
Have a drink with her, let her sleep it off, and maybe, just maybe, this whole thing will be over and done with.
Harrison peeled a shrimp and placed it on the plate in front of her. “Don’t go to any dangerous places with her.”
He was genuinely afraid Daphne might drag Adeline off to some sketchy spot to let loose.
"Don't worry, I won't. She's probably not in the mood to go anywhere else anyway. I'll just stay with her in her hotel room."
Only after hearing that did Harrison relax.
