Jaden’s face paled, and he wished he could just bury his head in the ground.
Back in the day, he used to have one foot in the door and one foot out, dating one girl while flirting with another, and nothing ever went wrong. How did things backfire this time?
He was in deep trouble now.
Looking like a fool was the least of his problems. If he offended this heiress, there was no way he’d get off easy!
Meanwhile, among the other guests watching, someone let out a mocking laugh.
Soon, laughter echoed from all around.
“That woman was just insisting someone was trying to steal her boyfriend, but it turns out her boyfriend was the one harassing someone else!”
“Now that the evidence is out, what else can she say?”
“This is ridiculous. She doesn’t even know what her own boyfriend is like? Even if she didn’t, how could she just accuse another girl of seducing him? Like her boyfriend is such a prize!”
The blonde woman felt utterly humiliated.
She shot Jaden a vicious glare, then turned her fury back on Adeline. “So what if my boyfriend was the one who came on to you? If you didn’t look like some kind of seductress, would he have gone after you? If you weren’t here, would he have approached you in the first place?”

Everyone was stunned by the woman’s shamelessness.
She was practically the poster child for victim-blaming!
Adeline, however, remained calm.
He wasn’t getting off the hook.
“The security footage is right here. The evidence is undeniable. Your words and actions constituted harassment. I’ll be suing you too.”
Jaden was terrified. His face was ashen. “Look, this… it’s all just a misunderstanding. Do we really have to blow this up? It’s my fault, okay? I’m sorry! I apologize to you, to everyone. Can’t we just let it go…”
“Let it go?” Adeline wasn’t about to be that easygoing. “You harassed me, and she slandered me. You both hurt someone without a second thought, and now you want me to just let it go?”
“……”
“Honey, what are you scared of?” The woman remained arrogant. “Let her sue us! Daddy will protect us!”
The onlookers stared at the woman in disbelief.
She had watched her boyfriend hit another woman. And she was still defending him? Was the love really that strong?
Jaden considered it. She wasn’t wrong.
Her father did run a hotel this size.
There was no way he couldn’t handle something like this, right?
Just then, a furious voice rang out.
“What do you think you’re doing!”
The woman’s father turned and saw her face light up.
“Daddy! You’re here! Quick, this woman is bullying me!”
Her father strode over.
The woman smugly expected him to take her side.
But then—smack!—she was met with a slap from her own father.
The crowd was stunned again.
“What was going on? Wasn’t that her father?”
Her father was on the verge of losing his mind—she was scaring him half to death.
Did she have any idea who she was dealing with? How dare she talk like that!
The woman’s father was named Colin. Besides this hotel, he ran a few small businesses. Life was comfortable enough, but his daughter was always causing him trouble, dragging home some gigolo as a boyfriend.
He could handle all that.
But today, she had kicked a hornet’s nest!
He had been enjoying some leisure time when he got a call from the hotel manager.
The manager had recognized Adeline as the Mendoza family’s eldest daughter while watching Colin’s daughter accuse her of seducing Jaden. Terrified and not daring to intervene directly, the manager had called him immediately.
Colin rushed over, grateful he had been nearby.
“Don’t hurt me!”
Tears welled in her eyes as she looked at him in disbelief.
“Daddy, why did you hit me?”
He looked at her. “No matter what, your actions were unacceptable.”
“Now that the truth is out, I apologize. I’ll be suing you too.”
Jaden wanted to slap himself. He tried again, whispering urgently, “Didn’t you hear what your dad called her? Miss Mendoza. She’s a Mendoza!”
“So what? Mendoza…”
The woman’s expression drastically changed.
A woman with the last name Mendoza, and her father acting so deferential…
Could it be… was she the heiress of the Mendoza family?
Oh no!
She might be foolish, but even she knew the Mendozas were absolutely untouchable!
“Let me apologize properly. Please forgive her insolence!”
At this sight, the woman and Jaden felt like their world had collapsed.
They had expected her father to back them up.
“Daddy, who is she? Why are you so afraid of her?” the woman kept ranting.
Suddenly, realization dawned on Jaden.
His face twitched violently. He grabbed the woman’s hand and forced out through gritted teeth, “Shut up!”
“I won’t!”
