One night stand with my president (chapter 682)

Chapter 682: Is He Even a Man?

But what had she just done?

She had accused the heiress of the Mendoza family of seducing her boyfriend!

Panic gripped the woman’s heart. Her mind went blank, unable to think.

She wanted nothing more than to throw a tantrum, consequences be damned. But at that moment, reason finally began to creep back in.

If the Mendoza family made a move, her family would lose everything!

And if that happened, her comfortable, privileged life would be over.

She loathed Adeline with every fiber of her being—hated her for having such a beautiful face, for catching her boyfriend’s eye—but her rational mind told her she had to back down.

Now!

“What are you standing there for? Apologize to Miss Mendoza this instant!” Colin roared. “And you! Jaden! I let my daughter be with you because she liked you, and this is how you repay me? You dare cause trouble? Both of you, apologize to Miss Mendoza!”

Jaden was the first to move. He tried to approach Adeline, but before he could get close, a bodyguard stepped in to block him.

Clearly, Adeline had no intention of letting him anywhere near her.

“Miss Mendoza, this is all our fault. We failed to recognize someone of your importance and displeased you. Please, be magnanimous and forgive us,” Jaden said, trembling with fear.

Adeline didn’t even look at him.

Jaden’s scalp prickled with anxiety.

His mind raced, desperately trying to come up with a way out.

Colin frantically signaled his daughter with his eyes, but she remained frozen in place, as if in a daze.

In truth, reason and impulse were locked in a fierce battle within her.

She knew she had to bow her head, but she didn’t want to. Not to Adeline.

So she just stood there, paralyzed.

Seeing that the woman wasn’t budging, Jaden suddenly spoke up. “Miss Mendoza, I was wrong to harass you earlier. But beauty attracts admiration, and I acted on impulse. Please forgive me! Besides, if we’re talking about who disrespected you the most, it was her, wasn’t it? She’s the one who kept accusing you of seducing me. I never said anything like that. I kept trying to explain, but she just wouldn’t believe me!”

He made sure to say this in Oriantonian, knowing full well his girlfriend wouldn’t understand.

And indeed, she didn’t.

But Colin did.

He trembled with rage.

So this was the game. This little punk was trying to shift all the blame onto his daughter!

Was Jaden even a man? That was his girlfriend!

He was the one who started this mess, and now he didn’t have the guts to take responsibility!

Adeline’s disgust for Jaden only deepened.

This man had absolutely no shame.

At that moment, she genuinely felt sorry for Daphne Vaughn. All that sincere devotion, wasted on someone like him.

“I don’t want to see him anymore,” she said to the bodyguard beside her.

The guard understood immediately. Two of them stepped forward, seized Jaden by the arms, and began dragging him toward the exit.

“Wait—”

Jaden tried to struggle, but the guards gave him no chance. One of them even clamped a hand over his mouth to keep him from making noise and disturbing Adeline.

Adeline had no desire to continue dealing with the father and daughter. She turned and walked away.

“Miss Mendoza!”

Colin’s face paled with desperation.

He couldn’t let the Mendoza heiress leave like this—not when he hadn’t even managed to properly appease her!

If the Mendoza family decided to pursue this, his family was finished!

He tried to follow, but Adeline’s bodyguards blocked his path.

He couldn’t get anywhere near her. All he could do was watch helplessly as she disappeared from view.

“Please, just let me have another word with Miss Mendoza, alright?” he pleaded.

But the bodyguards stood firm.

Colin was like an ant on a hot pan, frantic with anxiety. He turned around and saw his daughter still standing there in a daze. Fury surged through him. He strode back and slapped her again.

“I told you back then not to get involved with that gigolo, but you wouldn’t listen! Now look at the mess you’ve caused! You just had to offend someone like her!”

The woman finally snapped back to reality. She clutched her cheek, her voice trembling with self-pity. “I didn’t know… If I had known she was a Mendoza, of course I would have been more polite!”

“You still don’t get it? I told you time and again not to put so much stock in that man, but you never listened!”

Similar incidents had happened before—more than once.

Every time the woman caught Jaden talking to another young, attractive woman, she would charge over, hurling insults, accusing the woman of seducing her boyfriend.

It always ended in a screaming match, sometimes even a physical fight.

The previous times, Colin had been able to smooth things over.

Those innocent women had been slandered, assaulted, and ultimately forced to swallow their grievances in silence.

Some had even been threatened and pressured by Colin into silence.

So the woman had grown more and more reckless.

But this time, she had finally crossed the wrong person.

“He’s my boyfriend. If I don’t keep a close watch on him, what if he runs off with someone else?” the woman retorted.

“You—”

Colin nearly choked on his rage.

Were there no other men left in the world? Did she have to cling to that gigolo like he was the last one?

“Do you have any idea what he just said to Miss Mendoza?”

“What did he say?” The woman still had no idea how dire things were.

Colin repeated Jaden’s words.

The woman’s face filled with shock. “He… that’s impossible! Daddy, you must be lying to me. There’s no way he said that! You’re just making things up because you know I don’t understand Oriantonian!”

Colin let out a bitter, humorless laugh. “You fool. You won’t even believe your own father, but you’ll trust that man who’s been making a fool of you all along?”

He had noticed Adeline’s bodyguards saving a copy of the surveillance footage—clearly, they were preserving evidence for the lawsuit against his daughter.

“Do you know that if the Mendozas’ legal team wants you to go to jail, they can make it happen? Are you willing to send yourself to prison over a man like that?”

Fear crept into the woman’s voice. “Daddy, what do I do? I don’t want to go to jail!”

Colin’s head throbbed with stress.

He had far too many things to deal with now.

He had to figure out how to save his foolish daughter from prison. He had to find a way to keep his business afloat.

If the Mendozas decided to retaliate because their heiress had been humiliated in his hotel, would they let it slide?

With his small businesses, the Mendozas could bankrupt him in the blink of an eye.

And then there was one more thing.

That wretched Jaden.

A cold, ruthless look settled on Colin’s face.

He couldn’t resolve the other matters immediately, but Jaden? He would make sure that bastard got what he deserved.

He turned to the security guard at the entrance. “Where is Jaden?”

“He ran off after Miss Mendoza’s men threw him out of the hotel,” the guard replied.

Colin’s face darkened with fury. “Find him. And bring him back to me!”

  1. Jaden hurt the wrong woman Daulphne, and never thought a day of reckoning will meet up with him through Adeline. Jaden stepped on the toes that he can't even finish what is coming to him through Daulphne, Adeline, Mr Thompson, and the Mendoza's.
